User and User Group Merge

Starting in Strategy (October 2026), you can use user and group merge to merge duplicate, obsolete, or redundant users and groups into a selected destination user or group. Use this merge to consolidate identities, preserve access relationships, transfer ownership, and reduce manual cleanup effort when users and groups change over time.

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click Users & Groups.

  3. Select an Environment from the upper-left drop-down list.
  4. Click the Advanced drop-down list.
  5. Click Merge Users.
  6. In the Configuration tab, select the check box next to the objects you want to merge along with the users and if you want to download a Summary log.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Merge Candidates tab, select users you want to merge and move them to the Users Merge Map grid.

Select the users you want to merge and move them to the Merge Map grid per merge. For example, a user wants to merge User A with User B and User C with User D. Rather than selecting the checkbox next to User A, User B, User C, and User D and moving them to the Users Merge Map grid at once, select User A and User B and move them to the Users Merge Map grid. Then repeat the process for User C and User D.

  9. Click Next.
  10. Review the Summary information and click Run.
  11. Leave the merge dialog open until the process is complete. To cancel the merge, click Cancel.

When the merge completes, the dialog displays a success message and the Summary log downloads, if selected.
