Break By Control per Metric for Combo Charts

Starting in Strategy One (May 2026), you can configure individual metrics to ignore the Break By attribute. Previously, Break By settings in combo charts applied to all metrics, including derived metrics. An issue can occur when a metric is calculated at a higher aggregation level but is visually broken out, causing multiple identical bars to display rather than a single aggregated bar. Use the Ignore Break By setting to mitigate this issue on metric targets you want to display as a single reference and not repeat the same metric for each break-by value.

When enabled, the metric displays the first break-by element and its value for all other break-by elements are hidden. Other metrics in the same combo chart honor the break-by attribute.

1. Click the graph visualization you want to modify or create a combo chart and change the metric shape to Bar.

2. In the Editor panel, right-click a metric in the Vertical area and choose Ignore Break By.

   Only the first break-by element displays on the combo chart.
