Compare Environment Configurations

Beginning in Strategy One (June 2026), you can compare the configuration of connected environments to each other or to an environment configuration file.

Create an Environment Configuration File to Use in Comparisons

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. In the Navigation pane on the left, click Environments.
  3. Right-click a connected environment and select Compare Environment Configurations.
  4. Select the environment to create the file for. You can select multiple environments.

    • To connect to an environment, double-click it and connect.

  5. Click Run Comparison.

  6. When all environment settings have been fetched, the Server Settings page displays for your review.

  7. To review settings for projects in the environment:

    1. Click Project Settings in the navigation bar on the left.

    2. Click Select Projects, expand the environment, and select the check boxes for the projects to review.

    3. Click Apply.

  8. To review settings for data sources in the environment:

    1. Click Data Source Settings in the navigation bar on the left.

    2. Click Select Data Sources, expand the environment, and select the check boxes for the data sources to review.

    3. Click Apply.

  9. In the Download Settings drop-down list, select the check boxes for the environments to create files for.

  10. Click Download. Save the JSON file, renaming it if you want to use a more detailed name than the project name.

  11. To exit the page, click OK.

Compare Environment Configurations

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. In the Navigation pane on the left, click Environments.
  3. Right-click a connected environment and select Compare Environment Configurations.
  4. Select the environment to compare. You can select multiple environments if they are available.

    • To connect to an environment, double-click it and connect.

  5. To compare the environments to a configuration file, upload the JSON file.

  6. Click Run Comparison.

  7. Review the comparisons of the Server Settings, Project Settings, and Data Source Settings. For projects and data sources, you can review a Summary or Details.

  8. To exit the page, click OK.
