Find and Replace Object Properties

Starting in Strategy (October 2026), use Find and Replace to bulk-search objects such as reports, templates, and metrics, and apply changes such as re-applying an AutoStyle or updating graph fonts.

Prerequisites

  • Use an environment and project that you have write access to.

  • Ensure you have the Use and Replace Dialog and Create application objects privileges.

  • To replace dependencies, enable the Enable Find and Replace object dependencies project-level setting. For more information on enabling project-level settings, Edit All Project-Level Settings.

Find and Replace

  1. Open Workstation.

  2. In the Navigation pane, click Browse Projects.

  3. Right-click a project and choose Find and Replace.

  4. Expand the Select the category of the properties to modify drop-down list and choose from one of the following options:

    • Metric formatting: Choose font formatting for metric headers and values including font style, padding, border, background, and more.

    • Data options: Choose report or template customizations such as null values, drilling, page-by, and more settings.

    • AutoStyle: Choose report or template AutoStyle formatting.

    • Dependencies: Choose dependencies to replace with other dependencies.

  5. In Find, choose the source objects.

    Objects display in the right grid. Deselect and filter the objects, as needed.

  6. In Replace With, define your updates manually or click Copy properties from object... to use an existing object as a properties template.

  7. Click Replace.

  8. Confirm the changes are applied.
